Shortbread Cookies - Grandma Springer (Kristine) - since 1938.
Mix together in a large bowl and press into an ungreased pan:
1 cup Brown Sugar
2 cups Butter
4 cups Flour
Press almond halves* into top.
Bake at 325 degrees for 10-15 min. or until slightly brown.

*One thing I remember helping my mother. First, we would crack the almonds to get them out of the shell.
Then mother wanted to get the brown skin off of them so you poured boiling water over them, let them sit
for a few minutes. Then, you just squeeze them and the skin comes right off. Then, she'd split them in 2
