Oh, my dearest Mama, Thank you for such a lovely surprise birthday party tea for me today at home! Larry kept it a secret for about a Month, saying we were just going over to Mama's for a minute to pick up a CD on our way to NoHo, but when we got to the pool table and I saw Kate's coat, I said, "That's Kate's coat!" We walked up the stairs and Mama greated us wearing her pretty blue and white print apron. "Surprise!" Not only -- solmente :) -- Kate, but Penni and Norma were there, too! After a short time, June arrived!. Later Dee joined the celebration.
Mama, your home-made (Ma-Made) tea sandwiches (cream-cheese and walnut, and deviled ham), cheese-stuffed celery flowers, home-made cherry tartlets (which you have been making in pie form since 1951) and Mrs. Retzlaff's butter tarts were wonderful. I love the way you decorated the dining room table with a fresh Spring theme. The brown and white plaid table cloth was laid on the table. Each place was set with your hand-made origami shirt placecards, fresh daffodils about to open, Easter egg-colorfed jelly bean cups, and happy birthday napkins! In the center of the table, nicely contrasting with the chocolate brown and white plaid table linen cloth was the luscious chocolate cake iced with glossy white 7-minute frosting.
What a wonderful birthday surprise! I love you, Mama Bear! XXOO -Diane
